Two Publications Recognize NovuHealth as a Top Workplace in Minnesota

The Star Tribune and Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Both Include NovuHealth on Their Lists for 2018

MINNEAPOLIS, June 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NovuHealth, the healthcare industry’s leading consumer engagement company, has been recognized by two separate publications as one of the best places to work in Minnesota.

NovuHealth Wellness Bikes
NovuHealth employees practiced changing tires during an onsite commuter bike workshop—a favorite NovuHealth wellness program event. The company offers free one-on-one wellness coaching, and an active Wellness Committee organizes employee events and activities each month, from surprise snacks to wellness talks on various topics to employee-led yoga classes.

NovuHealth has been included on Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s 2018 Best Places to Work list, coming in as one of the top-scoring businesses in the medium company category, according to research by Quantum Workplace and the Business Journal. NovuHealth and this year’s other honorees will be featured in the Aug. 17 Best Places to Work publication, as well as online at mspbj.com. The company was also honored on the list in 2015.

In addition, NovuHealth has been named one of the Top 150 Workplaces in Minnesota by the Star Tribune. A complete list of those selected is available at StarTribune.com/topworkplaces2018 and will also be published in the Star Tribune Top Workplaces special section on Sunday, June 24.

Star Tribune’s Top Workplaces recognizes the most progressive companies in Minnesota based on employee opinions measuring engagement, organizational health and satisfaction. The analysis included responses from over 71,000 employees at Minnesota public, private and nonprofit organizations.

“To be recognized by not one, but two publications as one of Minnesota’s top workplaces is both gratifying and humbling; and it validates our intention to create a place where the employee experience is part of our secret sauce,” said Tom Wicka, CEO at NovuHealth. “Ever since we founded the company, our aim has been to create an atmosphere where people can both do meaningful work and grow professionally, at a place that doesn't take itself too seriously.”

NovuHealth also encourages a culture of wellness and philanthropy in a number of ways, including:

Wellness Program
NovuHealth's active Wellness Committee organizes employee events and activities each month, from surprise snacks and wellness talks on topics like nutrition and stress, to employee-led yoga classes and group bike rides. As a reward for participating in wellness events, employees have the opportunity to win prizes like gift cards or PTO. In addition, NovuHealth also offers employees free one-on-one health coaching sessions with a resident integrative dietitian and health and well-being coach.

Charitable Giving
Through NovuHealth's popular volunteer program, employees volunteer their time at organizations such as Meals on Wheels, Feed My Starving Children, MATTERbox and Cookie Cart.

In addition, each quarter NovuHealth makes a $5,000 donation to an organization making a difference in Minnesota. Employees nominate organizations, then cast their votes to decide which one NovuHealth supports that quarter. To date, NovuHealth has made donations to organizations such as Appetite for Change, Crescent Cove, Perspectives and MATTERbox.

These two awards continue what has been a banner calendar year for NovuHealth. Last year the company was a Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal 2017 Eureka! Innovation award winner, while also finishing at No. 5 on the publication's Fast 50 list of fastest-growing companies. In addition, NovuHealth was recognized by Minnesota Business magazine in the Excellence in Data Analytics category of their Innovators in Health and Wellness Awards.

Star Tribune Publisher Michael J. Klingensmith said, “The companies in the Star Tribune Top 150 Workplaces deserve high praise for creating the very best work environments in the state of Minnesota. My congratulations to each of these exceptional companies.”

To qualify for the Star Tribune Top Workplaces, a company must have more than 50 employees in Minnesota. Over 2,400 companies were invited to participate. Rankings were composite scores calculated purely on the basis of employee responses.
