Eurovision 2025 Semi Final 1 full results as Ukraine and Sweden qualify for final

The first 15 countries took to the stage in Switzerland with the final is just days away

Eurovision has returned for its 69th year and as the first semi-final kicked off, the countries competed for a spot in the Grand Final.

Thanks to Nemo's win in last year's Eurovision Song Contest, Switzerland have returned to host this year with all 37 countries turning up to St Jakobshalle in Basel.


For those of us in the UK, the BBC who aired and have teased a week filled with Eurovision content on both radio and television for fans to dig their teeth into.


Only 26 countries are allowed to compete in the final on Saturday, May 17, and so 11 countries must bid farewell to the competition after the semi-final is over.

During Tuesday May 13, the first semi-final saw Iceland, Poland, Slovenia, Estonia, Ukraine, Sweden, Portugal, Norway, Belgium, Azerbaijan, San Marino, Albania, Netherlands, Croatia, Cyprus, Italy, Spain and Switzerland participate.

With Italy and Spain part of the "Big Five" countries, they're automatically guaranteed a place in the final. Switzerland also qualified due to winning last year.

The semi-final did feature previews of Spanish entrant Melody’s ESA DIVA, Italian singer Lucio Corsi‘s Volevo Essere Un Duro and Swiss pop star Zoë Më’s track Voyage.

  • Portugal: NAPA – Deslocado
  • Norway: Kyle Alessandro – Lighter
  • Belgium: Red Sebastian – Strobe Lights
  • Italy: Lucio Corsi – Volevo Essere Un Duro (automatically qualified for final)
  • Azerbaijan: Mamagama - Run With U
  • San Marino: Gabry Ponte – Tutta L’Italia
  • Albania: Shkodra Elektronike – Zjerm
  • Netherlands: Claude – C’est La Vie
  • Croatia: Marko Bošnjak – Poison Cake
  • Switzerland: Zoë Më – Voyage (automatically qualified for final)
  • Cyprus: Theo Evan – Shh

As mentioned Spain, Switzerland and Italy automatically qualify and will be joined in the final by Norway, Albania, Sweden, Iceland, Netherlands, Poland, San Marino, Estonia, Portugal, and Ukraine.

The second semi-final will air on Thursday 15th May as Australia, Montenegro, Ireland, Latvia, Armenia, Austria, Greece, Lithuania, Malta, Georgia, Denmark, Czechia, Luxembourg, Israel, Serbia and Finland.

The "Big Five" countries performing and voting during the second Semi-Final are France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
