he Rural Safety coordinators team under former Bethlehem cluster stations successfully arrested for suspects in possession of suspected stolen property between Paul Roux-Senekal road during their Rural Safety operations.

On 24 April 2024, the Rural Safety police officials were conducting stock theft operations as their major priority to curb stock theft while simultaneously also monitoring the possible tampering of infrastructures, house robberies on farms and maintain high police visibility in the area of Paul Roux policing precinct. During the operation, the team came across a silver grey Isuzu bakkie with FS registration numbers and four occupants inside. They searched both suspects and the bakkie. The police found 10 kilograms bags containing copper wire to an estimated value of R46, 000.00 and they were all arrested on the spot. The copper wire and bakkie were seized. It was established during preliminary investigations that the four suspects are from Qwaqwa, including a foreign national.

The four suspects, aged between 31 and 38, are expected to appear before the Bethlehem Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 26 April 2024, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property.
